TechCon shifting gears: 2023 staging set for October
Managed service provider tTech has announced that its TechCon event will take place on October 4 this year, just ahead of the enforcement of the Data Protection Act 2020.
The annual conference will adopt a hybrid format and focus on the theme ‘Resilience: Building resilient cyber infrastructure strategies for the digital age’, for expectant attendees from Jamaica and the Caribbean.
This year’s event is expected to be the largest yet, as tTech aims to expand the conference’s scope and provide advanced education in business and technology.
FIRST PAID EVENT
According to Norman Chen, CEO of tTech, the past year has been monumental for technological advancements worldwide, and, as a result, the associated risks for businesses have grown. Therefore, the conference aims to represent a culmination of innovative ideas from the last year that can further the enterprises of Jamaica and the Caribbean.
The sixth instalment of TechCon will be the first paid event and will delve deeply into security matters. It comes against the backdrop of near-constant improvements to AI software and infrastructure, the upcoming enforcement of local data protection laws, and progress in the digital economic space.
For businesses of all sizes, the conference is expected to cover a broad range of security topics such as AI and security, data protection, and security.
Chen said he was looking forward to the dual in-person and virtual format, which will enable tTech to expand its reach.
The ultimate goal for TechCon is to become the most prominent technology conference in the Caribbean by 2026, continuing to create an educational platform for business technology.
