tTech Celebrates 15th Anniversary

Jamaican-based managed information technology (IT) services provider, tTech Limited, celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.

The company kicked off the celebration with a tablet donation initiative last December, which saw tTech donating close to $1 million worth of tablets to local students who were in need.

tTech’s 15th-anniversary celebration will continue throughout 2022 with several other initiatives across the island to commemorate the milestone – including client and staff activities, green project, scholarships for tertiary students, retrospective videos and various marketing collateral by way of a special commemorative logo, signage and more.

Established in 2006 as the brainchild of former GraceKennedy exec Edward ‘Teddy’ Alexander, in collaboration with other senior IT professionals, tTech Limited started as a small company. Over the past 15 years, the tTech team has increased from five to approximately 50 people, becoming an established market leader in managed IT services.

While tTech’s services and operations have expanded over the years, the team is happy that their underlying principles remained constant and, even during the celebration, the company is keen on not becoming complacent.

Speaking on tTech’s commitment to quality and consistency in their business, tTech CEO, Christopher Reckord, stated that “We got here by focusing on the fundamentals which include among other things: (1) understanding how we provide value, (2) developing a talented, highly engaged team of professionals, (3) targeting a specific market segment [and] (4) an intense focus on our customers and of course, we are constantly improving our processes. We have come a long way and we have an even longer journey ahead of us, so this milestone is a time for us to reflect on all the wisdom gained, the successes and the lessons learned along this journey”.

Beyond the numerous accolades and awards that the company has received, some of its biggest and most public accomplishments since its start in 2006 were, being listed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) and being the first technology company in Jamaica to do so, as well as its growth in customer base from two to over 50 customers.

In addition, being the first fully managed IT services provider in Jamaica and to still have that as its core business offerings and its continued commitment and focus on corporate social responsibility as the company grows.

tTech’s marketing manager, Gillian Murray, is especially proud of – among other things, how the team has evolved.

“It is so pleasing to see how our team has morphed into a more diverse one over the past 15 years, with a lot of millennials and women now in the workforce. Our senior management team ratio of females to males is now at 4:2. These dynamics are typically uncharacteristic of a technology company, and we are proud to say we have achieved that,” Murray contended.

Although 15 years in business is a major accomplishment, the team is highly focused on what the future has in store for tTech.

CEO Reckord said, “we are so proud to celebrate our 15-year milestone with our employees, clients, and partners—and look forward to meeting our goals for the next decade”.
